Pancytopenia as a Presentation of Iron Deficiency: A Case Report

One of the most common nutritional deficiencies worldwide is iron deficiency. Fatigue, pallor, vertigo, dyspnea, cold intolerance, lethargy, palpitation, headache, and pallor mucous membranes or nail beds are frequent symptoms signs Thrombocytosis commonly observed in deficiency anemia; it seems that erythropoietin plays main role this respect. Furthermore, thrombocytopenia even leukopenia have been reported deficiency; however, pancytopenia a very rare condition. In report, we presented two unusual cases due to severe improved after treatment with oral supplements. Iron anemia, if sufficiently severe, may be associated reduced platelet leukocyte counts. Accordingly, condition should considered as differential diagnosis all patients pancytopenia.
